1. Sol Kadhi

Famous throughout the Konkan region, Sol Kadhi is a refreshing Konkani drink usually eaten with rice or sometimes served as a drink after meals. Sol Kadhi is made from coconut milk and kokum. It is popular in the Konkan region of India as konkanis drink Sol Kadhi at the end of every meal. This is used as a refreshing drink as it cools down the digestive system after eating spicy food and is a real saver during hot Indian summers. Besides, it also acts as an anti-carcinogenic and anti-ageing agent.


2. Konkani Fish Fry

Boasts of 720 km long coastline, Konkan region is a paradise for seafood lovers. With its incredible aromas, tastes and textures, the authentic Konkani Cuisine would really appease one’s gastronomic desires. 3. Kombdi Vade

Kombdi vade is a dish native to the Konkan region of Maharashtra. The dish consists of a traditional chicken curry (including chicken pieces with bones), vade (fluffy fried dumplings made of rice flour, and occasionally of wheat and Ragi flour. The yummy it looks, the tastier it is. It is usually served with solkadhi.


4. Patholi

Patholi or Patoli is a sweet dish mostly prepared on the Konkan region during Gowri Pooja, Ganesh Chaturthi and Naga Panchami festivals. Patholi is made of rice, grated coconut and jaggery which are steamed in turmeric leaves. The turmeric leaves add their heavenly fragrance and flavour to these rice dumplings. The sweet, inner coconut filling makes these rice dumplings absolutely delicious. Patholi are usually served as dessert during meals.


5. Bharli Vangi

This vegetarian recipe is extremely popular among the Marathi folks for its deep and robust flavors. In which baby eggplants or brinjals are stuffed with the spicy mixture of sesame, dry coconut, groundnuts and the fiery Malvani Masala. Usually this curry is served with roti, jowar roti or even with plain rice.


6. Amboli

Dosa is to South India what Amboli is to the Konkan. Amboli is a traditional Konkani breakfast dish. It is a savory pancake made with a fermented batter of rice and lentils. They are best served warm with coconut chutney or pickle.


7. Ukadiche Modak

Modak is a sweet dumpling made with rice flour and filled with a mixture of grated coconut, jaggery, and cardamom. It is a popular sweet dish, especially during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. When these packed rice dumplings are warm, they taste like pure heaven. The sticky mixture of coconut and dry fruit only needs a generous amount of ghee to be ready.


8. Alu Vadi

Alu or aloo is the Marathi word for colocasia leaves. When prepared with the proper seasonings, it tastes delicious to eat. In order to remove all of those qualities from the leaf, it is also a tongue-itchy that must be steeped in tamarind water for an entire night. In hotels and houses alike, this vadi is served as a snack.


9. Fanasachi Bhaji (Jackfruit)

This is a dry curry made with jackfruit, a seasonal fruit abundant in the Konkan region. It is often cooked with spices and coconut to create a delicious vegetarian dish.


10. Malvani Fish Curry

This is a flavourful curry made with fresh fish cooked in a coconut-based gravy with a blend of spices like Malvani masala, kokum, and tamarind.
